His service area includes the towns in metro northwest of Boston and communities of Allston and Brighton, as well as Bedford, Belmont, Cambridge, Charlestown, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Somerville, and Winthrop. Peter and Lisa have a busy family with four children, and he kindly took some time to tell us his favorite things about owning his franchise business.

What was your career before becoming a Tunie?
Chef/Food Service/Catering

What is your favorite part of owning your own business?

Financial freedom.

What comes to mind as your most memorable kitchen update?

When our past clients recently invited Lisa and I to dinner at their house. They wanted Lisa to see the work our team did, and to thank us for their beautiful kitchen. That was really rewarding.

When you’re not working, what is your favorite hobby or pastime?

I spend my time making kitchens a room that families love, and I still love to cook for my family and spend time in our kitchen. When Lisa and I bought our Kitchen Tune-Up business we had two children, and now we have four.  Life is busy, but we get to the beach whenever we can.

What’s something unique about your area?

The New England Patriots, of course!

We switch up our National Reunion location each year.  What has been your favorite city to visit or most memorable Reunion so far?
I really enjoyed Nashville. A few of us were able to take in an NHL game during the trip.

Do you have a favorite cabinet door style?

My favorite is whatever style the customer likes.  It’s an honor that they trust me and my team with the project.

What was the biggest motivator to why you bought your own franchise?

I needed to leave the hospitality industry. I enjoyed the work but didn’t have enough family time. Because I knew I was going to make a change, I decided to work for myself and am so glad I did.

What have you found to be the biggest benefit to franchise ownership?
Time with my family!  I set my schedule, have great clients, enjoy the work, and as I mentioned - the financial freedom.
