This week we are featuring Ron Strainis, owner of Kitchen Tune-Up Hamilton County, IN. Ron is what our franchise owners affectionately call a “Baby Tunie.” He took the leap toward business ownership less than a year ago and joined our franchise family in the summer of 2017. In addition to being a busy entrepreneur, Ron and his wife, Lindsey, welcomed their first child in 2017. Read more about Ron below. What was your career before becoming a Tunie?
I was multi-unit manager for a restaurant chain.
What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
Being able to scale everything to the way my vision has always been.
What comes to mind as your most memorable kitchen update?
We just launched Kitchen Tune-Up in Hamilton County, IN in July 2017. I am so appreciative of how supportive our community has been. My favorite part is seeing our clients face at the end of every day. They are so excited to see the new space and it’s really rewarding.
Any advice for someone thinking about making the leap and buying their own franchise?
Make the leap. Do it. Nobody else is going to give it to you. Go out and take it!
When you’re not working, what is your favorite hobby or pastime?
All of my free time is dedicated to being a new dad! I also enjoy being outdoors, fishing and hunting whenever possible.

Do you have a favorite cabinet door style?
HaglundRidge in white with charcoal glaze! It’s a RTF door, and so clean and crisp.
What was the biggest motivator to WHY you bought your own franchise?
My daughter, Mia. I want to be a person for her to strive to be.
What have you found to be the biggest benefit to franchise ownership?
You determine on how you run your business. You set the expectations. You get to make things happen for yourself. You are the one who reaps the rewards from your execution and hard work.
