Featured Franchise: Kitchen Tune-Up Onondaga County, NY
This week's feature takes us to Bridgeport, New York. Dale Heagle joined our franchise family back in 1995 tuning-up kitchens across Onondaga County. He’s always willing to speak at National Reunions and be a member of panels and Q & A’s and has been contributing to our system for over 20 years. Dale and Candy have formed many friendships over the years and look forward to meeting up with other Tunies annually at our National Reunion. Thanks, Dale for the interview!
What was your career before becoming a Tunie?
I tried several different areas before finding Kitchen Tune-Up – farming, factory work, and bar/restaurant ownership.
What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
Having total control – of my schedule, my profitability, everything.
What comes to mind as your most memorable kitchen update?
One of my first projects was when a lady purchased the kitchen update as a gift to her mother. I completed a cabinet refacing project in her 40 year old kitchen. About a month later, I received a call from the mother and she was in tears. She said that every morning when she sees her new kitchen, she can’t believe that is hers. Talk about job satisfaction and knowing I made the right move by going into business for myself.
Any advice for someone thinking about making the leap and buying their own franchise?
Kitchen Tune-Up has given me the tools and the vision to provide for my family for over 20 years.
When you’re not working, what is your favorite hobby or pastime?
Fishing and hunting.
What’s something unique about your area?
Syracuse University basketball, lacrosse, and soccer are huge here. And of course the Great New York State Fair.
We switch up our National Reunion location each year. What has been your favorite city to visit, or most memorable Reunion so far?
Nashville!
What was the biggest motivator to why you bought your own franchise?
Our system and our products are what most attracted me to KTU. Everyone has a kitchen we get to help them make it great.
What have you found to be the biggest benefit to franchise ownership?
The relationships that we have built through the years with other franchise owners.
