Steve & Susan Sneller joined the Kitchen Tune-Up family in 2017, bringing 1-5 day kitchen updates to Sioux Falls in addition to their painting services.
Fun Fact: We have three franchise locations in our home state of South Dakota. Kitchen Tune-Up was founded in Aberdeen, SD in 1988, and it’s where our Home Office remains. We are thrilled to have franchise owners offering our kitchen updates to homeowners in Aberdeen, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and all the communities that surround their cities. Steve and Susan Sneller had been small business owners for almost two decades when they found Kitchen Tune-Up. Our franchise has allowed them to offer additional services to their clients who are seeking to update and improve their homes. We are so glad to have them as part of our family. What was your career before becoming a Tunie?
I was in landscaping, and Susan owned Creative Faux Finish.
What is your favorite part of owning your own business?
Freedom
What comes to mind as your most memorable kitchen update?
It’s hard to pick a favorite because we get so many smiles (and even hugs) from our clients.
When you’re not working, what is your favorite hobby or pastime?
Depends on the time of year (we live in South Dakota!), but we love to be outside in the sun whenever we can. We are very family-driven, so if we don’t have band concerts, football games, or activities happening with our children, we are spending time with our four grandchildren. We love our family cookouts and pool parties.
What’s something unique about your area?
I think we have the best sweet corn in the world.
Do you have a favorite cabinet door style?
Super matte slab
What was the biggest motivator to why you bought your own franchise?
The feeling that you are part of a team, and the support from other owners. It’s great to have the Home Office helping whenever needed, and there are other franchisees working toward the same goals that we can always reach out to.
What have you found to be the biggest benefit to franchise ownership?
The availability of products and the group buying power of a national company.
